China food safety law comes into force

China has introduced a New Food Safety Law effective as of 1 June 2009 aimed at implementing an integrated “farm-to-fork” approach on food safety control, cutting down on regulatory overlaps and conflict among enforcement bodies, and increasing the legal liability of food producers.
